The Vienna Parks and Recreation Department has announced the winners of its 2015 amateur photography contest, held March 21 and 22, at the Vienna Community Center. There were 227 entries by 66 photographers. Patricia Deege received the Best in Show award and Aaron Holland won the People’s Choice award. Winners of the eight categories are listed below.
- *Animals: 1st – Patricia Deege; 2nd - Kathrin Swoboda; 3rd – Cindy Maddan; Honorable Mention – Dennis Govoni; David Dargatis; Robert Lavey.
- Student Winners: 1st - Erica Schemerhorn , James Madison High School; 2nd – Joseph Vouvakis, Mosby Woods Elementary School; 3rd- Kristina Seewald, McLean High School; Honorable Mention - Jena Timberlake, James Madison High School; Samantha Judis, Thoreau Middle School.
- *Architecture: 1st – Mary Jane Fish; 2nd – Bern J. Altman; 3rd – John A. Sichenze; Honorable Mention – Carol Carroll.
