Results of the 18th National Drug Take Back Initiative

On October 26, 2019, the Town of Vienna Police Department in conjunction with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, (D.E.A.), participated in the 18th National Drug Take Back Initiative. As a result of that initiative, the Town of Vienna Police Department collected and safely disposed of 281 pounds of expired or no longer needed medications from area citizens. The October initiative collected approximately 23,754 pounds of medications statewide. The Vienna Police Department plans to continue its participation with the United States D.E.A. for future initiatives.

Guest Speaker to Discuss Family Leave Legislation

The Vienna Area Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will host a speaker event Thursday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30. Patrick Henry Library, 101 Maple Ave. E., Vienna. The public is invited. Free. Co-sponsored by Patrick Henry Library.

Briana Sewell of the Virginia Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy will summarize current Virginia law and proposed legislation on family leave.
