U.S. Rep. Gerry Connolly, (D-11) “This holiday season, I am thankful for the love of my family and friends, and for the trust my constituents have once again placed in me. Mark Keam (D-35) “As we wrap up a year that featured one of the most divisive presidential elections in modern times, it's hard to know what good, if any, has come out of this hyper-polarizing experience. And even today, the election result continues to pit some Americans against others at a time when we should be coming together to celebrate another peaceful transition of government. So, as we enter Thanksgiving week, I'd like to take a step back and refocus on the fundamentals. As an active participant in our political process, I am thankful that I live in America where we continue to uphold the 240 year-long tradition of selecting leaders from among us, no matter how imperfect they may be. I appreciate that our democratic system allows the majority to rule, but also affords the minority the right to express their opposition and to seek changes from within. I am also grateful for the opportunity to represent the residents in Vienna and surrounding areas who are actively engaged in their communities and know each other well enough to respect any differences we may have and to honor our civic discourse.”
