Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-11) will hold his annual Open Season Workshop on Saturday, Nov. 15 to help federal employees and retirees navigate through the many changes in the 2015 Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) plans, dental and vision insurance programs, and flexible spending accounts.
The federal government’s Open Season runs from Nov. 10 through Dec. 8.
Connolly’s Open Season Workshop for Federal Employees and Retirees will take place at the Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All federal workers, retirees, and annuitants are invited to attend.
The program will include presentations by FEHB experts, including FEHBP expert Walt Francis, author of CHECKBOOKS’s Guide to Health Plans for Federal Employees. Representatives of various health plans, the Office of Personnel Management, and Medicare will be available to discuss their programs with participants.
“Many FEHB plans have benefit and rate changes for 2015 so it is important that federal employees and retirees know those details to help them determine whether there is another option that better suits their needs,” Connolly said. “With all these changes, it is recommended that every federal employee and retiree review the status of their current coverage, and they need to do it before Open Season ends on Dec. 8.”

*10 – 11 a.m. -- Panel Discussion featuring experts on FEHB programs and available health plan options, including FEHBP expert Walt Francis, author of CHECKBOOKS’s Guide to Health Plans for Federal Employees.
Hosted in the Board of Supervisors Auditorium.
*11 a.m. – 1 p.m. -- Representatives of various FEHB health plans and Medicare will be available to provide information and answer questions concerning plan offerings for 2015.
